Whitby Swing Bridge was 100 years old on August 8th 2009. The bridge joins the East and West sides of Whitby and during high tides, opens every 30 minutes on the hour and at half past the hour. This website has been set up to celebrate the bridges’ birthday and to honour a fine piece of Victorian engineering.
